Choices

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Like many people today, the Israelites in YESHUA’S time believed they were destined for Heaven. They mistakenly thought that to join GOD’S family, good works and an intellectual faith were all that GOD required!

To help us grasp the truth about entering His FATHER’S Kingdom, YESHUA described two roads that lead in opposite directions. One, being a broad road, is where most people travel. It’s the easy journey requiring few commitments with no rules or road signs. On this path, just about anything is acceptable, giving us whatever we desire. But at the end, it delivers nothing of lasting value.

The other road (the narrow one) has a small entrance, which is being reconciled to GOD through faith in MESSIAH. Traveling on this road requires a commitment to the Savior and a lifestyle of dependence, sacrifice & trust!

Matthew 7:13–14
You can enter God’s kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad and it’s gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult; and only a few ever find it.

Destruction or everlasting life: Which will you choose? The journey is up to you.

Showing God’s Love

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

In John 13, we see the premier example of servanthood as YESHUA washed the disciples’ feet! Remember, back then everyone wore sandals and the roads were not paved (just dirt), so by the end of the day everyone’s feet were really dirty.

YESHUA offered to wash their feet to teach them a great lesson (John 13:8). YESHUA clearly explains in verses 13 to 17 that we must do things for each other, otherwise, we are really not part of one another. The things we do to serve one another are the things that bind us together. YESHUA was able to wash their feet because He was free; only a person who is truly free (not insecure) can do menial tasks and not feel insignificant as a result. Serving others is not typically viewed as a high position, yet YESHUA said it is the highest of all.

John 13:5
After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the servant’s towel with which He was girded.

The purpose behind being a servant is to show others the love of GOD that He has shown us! How can you serve someone today (showing the love of the FATHER)?

You’re Always There for Me

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

The world is crumbling

All about;

No safe place can be found.

Right is wrong,

Wrong is right;

The change is quite profound.

Lord, we need

Your guiding light

To lead us out of here;

We’ll focus on

Your Word, and prayer,

To take away our fear.

Temptations of

This dying world

We’ll rule out and let go;

Give our burdens

All to you,

Shed all worldly woe.

That’s how we’ll

Get through this, Lord,

Fixed on heaven above,

Assured of Your

protection, help,

And everlasting love.

No Excuses

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Even though the Bible clearly states that every believer receives a spiritual gift, some nevertheless think they were overlooked. So they go through their lives refusing to serve. Others are so busy wishing they had a different ability that they do not use the one given to them by the Holy Spirit! Both of these attitudes are sinful!

GOD has a specific purpose and ministry for every believer. Our spiritual gifts help us fulfill GOD’S master plan. He always has a purpose for handing out our spiritual gifts. We are to use our gifts for equipping, edifying and encouraging one another (Ephesians 4:11-13) and for bringing the lost into the Kingdom. Everyone profits when we do GOD’S work through the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 4:10
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of GOD.

Each one of us has important work to do for the kingdom (no excuses for bypassing GOD’S will)! Where He has gifted us, He will also provide strength and courage to exercise those gifts.
