Building Confidence

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Prayer is a priority; YESHUA, our example, often slipped away to spend quiet time with His FATHER. If the Son of GOD needed prayer time, then we surely can’t live a victorious life without it!

As we learned recently, we will become weary if we try to handle burdens alone.

When a person is drained spiritually, emotionally or physically, they become susceptible to discouragement!

Keeping the LORD at the center of one’s focus builds confidence. Without prayer and Bible reading (which cannot be separated), believers will enter a vicious cycle where disappointment is inevitable! Then loss of confidence is followed by doubt. But a believer immersed in prayer and Bible reading will find security in GOD’S power and presence!

Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore come boldly in the throne of grace, that you may obtain mercy and find grace for help in time of need.

Forsaking prayer results in a downward slide! We need to go to the ABBA the FATHER, confess our lack of prayer and then make a priority of spending quiet time with Him. As we sit in His presence, He will make burdens light, offer encouragement and fill us with confidence.

Self Talk

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Without a doubt GOD loves us. His Word is His endless love letter to you and me and all through it He repeatedly proclaims His love for us. But, knowing GOD loves us in our head is not the same as knowing He loves us in our heart!

There are a number of things that keep us from having a heartfelt revelation of GOD’S love, but I believe one of the greatest things is the way we talk about ourselves, which is “self-talk!” Let’s admit it, we all talk to ourselves; we can do it externally or out loud and also internally within our thoughts.

Are you speaking negative words (self-criticism, judgement and condemnation) over yourself or positive words of GOD’S love and acceptance? Don’t let the truth of GOD’S love be drowned out by thoughts of negatively, fear and doubt!

Luke 6:45c

Out of the abundance (overflow) of the heart his mouth speaks…

Realize that nobody’s words carry more weight or power in your life than yours! Why? Because next to GOD, you have the greatest amount of authority in and over your life. Words spoken out of your mouth will either produce death or life (Proverbs 18:21).

Dare to be Bold

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Bold means to be daring, courageous and intrepid! GOD is calling us to be bold! He hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of power and permission to fearlessly, confidently and boldly draw near the throne of grace!

This means we can go into the presence of almighty GOD anytime we choose (through MESSIAH YESHUA). We have an open  invitation day and night. Wow, GOD is saying to us, unreservedly, which means we don’t have to be careful, hesitate or wonder if we’ve worn out our welcome. Even if we made some mistakes or did things we shouldn’t have done, we can repent of our sins and be cleansed in the blood of YESHUA and go boldly back into His Throne room!

(Ephesians 3:12) In whom because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (to unreserved approach to GOD with freedom and without fear).

GOD is waiting on us to come into His Throne room and daringly ask Him  to meet our needs and the needs of others and to work through us to impact the world around us!

God’s Perspective

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

In today’s scripture, YESHUA is teaching us how to avoid being overly concerned with statue. He wants us to experience life at its very best.

We must have the right attitude; start by viewing ourselves and those around us from GOD’S perspective. We are all sinners who have been saved by His amazing grace at the ground level of the cross!

No one earns his way to heaven and no one is better than anyone else. We are all loved by our heavenly FATHER; everyone we meet is precious in His sight and in need of His mercy!

We need to humble ourselves before the LORD, asking Him to search our hearts and reveal areas of sin and pride and then agreeing that we have fallen short of His standards.

(Matthew 23:11-12) But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant, and whoever exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Let’s humble ourselves before the LORD starting today by being willing to love whomever He calls us to love, serve wherever He sends us and be all He has created us to be!

What are you Seeking?

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

If you could ask for only one thing, what would it be? Maybe a new car or a brand new house, or perhaps a new relationship, etc.?

Yet, the very one thing that we all really need is to seek and find YESHUA and to really get to know our almighty GOD!

Each one of us has a God-shaped hole on the inside and nothing can fill it except GOD Himself! No matter what else we try to fill it with, we will remain empty and frustrated. King David (a man after God’s own heart) tells us that more than anything else he wanted to know GOD and to seek Him and dwell in His presence! Let’s read together what King David said.

Psalm 27:4 “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple…”

Investing our life in GOD is the very best thing we could ever do! Ask yourself this question today: “Do you really know your heavenly FATHER or just know of Him?
