Times of Turbulence

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Life is continually changing. As one problem is settled, a new one always seems to pop up! Since we live in a fallen world, trouble is part of our reality!

But, thankfully, GOD guides believers through our times of turbulence (Psalm 23). He is truly our Good Shepherd who constantly abides with us (His weary lambs)!

YESHUA promised to not leave us as orphans, and His promise was fulfilled in the person of the Holy Spirit (who was sent to indwell and to care for each one of us who are believers in MESSIAH ).

The apostle Paul describes the Holy Spirit as a seal placed around believers until they are called to their heavenly home (Romans 8:35-39).

YESHUA speaking: John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans , I will come to you…”

This protection or seal of the Holy Spirit is for GOD’S children (those who have received YESHUA as Savior)! Our lives can get rocky at times, but we as believers always have the assurance of a companion (the RUACH HAKODESH) in those tough times. We can be confident that GOD’S goodness and love will surround us always (Psalm 23:6).

The Power of Love

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Believers are vessels for GOD’S love. His love flowing through us is a powerful force that enables us to do more than the unbeliever, who RELIES upon himself. The love that dwells in us is described perfectly in our verse of the day!

1 Corinthians 13:4
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud…”

First, “love is patient,” and with GOD’S Spirit living within us, we are empowered to wait upon His timing and purpose so we can be patient with others, knowing GOD is working on their behalf.

“Love is kind,“ and with GOD’S love, we have the capacity to be genuinely kind, regardless of how others may treat us.

Love is not jealous or envious. Jealousy is a fear of losing someone. GOD’S love gives us the security to hold relationships more loosely.

“Love does not brag, is not arrogant.” We understand our value in GOD’S eyes, and there is no need to be arrogant!

GOD’S love is powerful! When we allow His caring Spirit to flow through us, we can have a profound effect upon our world!

Encouraging Others

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

One of the easiest ways to express love to others is to help them feel valuable. Stop to think, most people we know do not have a sense of their infinite value as a child of GOD! The thought that GOD loves them and sees them as precious has never entered their minds.

Satan works overtime making people feel devalued and worthless, but we can help remove those lies by building people up and encouraging them!

One way to do this is with a sincere compliment. Nothing major, just a little remark like: I value our friendship or you look so pretty today or I love your smile!

How meaningful that can be to someone. A little bit of love and care goes a long way!

Rom. 14:19
Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.

This act of edification isn’t time consuming or costly but is so valuable to the building up of GOD’S creation ( you & me)!

Reach out today and spread the love of YESHUA; encourage someone. It only takes a minute!

Living Hope

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

If we ever needed hope, it is now! “Hope” can be defined as the desire for something good and the expectation of receiving it. There is only one source of hope in our fallen world, and it’s not the government!

Messiah Yeshua, and He alone, is our genuine source of hope because He alone knows what is best and has the sovereignty and power to secure its fulfillment.

We all have different expectations about what our future will bring pertaining to our life here on this earth! But YESHUA promises us the “living hope” of an inheritance in heaven! These things on earth will fade away someday, but our future home in heaven is for all eternity! This is our ultimate security and our anchor when the storms of life while on earth are severe!

1 Peter 1:3

Praise be the God and Father of our Lord YESHUA MESSIAH. By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of YESHUA MESSIAH from the dead.

This Scripture tells us when we accept YESHUA as our Savior and Lord of our life (being born-again), we will then have that ever-living hope in our heart! YESHUA, who is our “living hope,” is waiting to be invited into your heart! He is your only true source of hope in these troubled times!

Rest In Your Heavenly Seat

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

The apostle Paul said that we are seated in heavenly places with Messiah YESHUA as a child of GOD! So what does that mean? What do we do when we sit? We rest, right! So to be seated in heavenly places with YESHUA is to enter an inner rest!

When we get nervous or upset about our problems and worry overtakes us, we need to tell ourselves “to sit down!” And we’re not just talking about our physical body but also our soul (mind, will and emotions)! To me it’s very interesting, how we now have no choice but to sit and rest In this season of being homebound during the Coronavirus pandemic.

It’s important to let our entire being rest and just wait on GOD. We need to wait expectantly for GOD to do what we cannot do! Give Him the steering wheel!

Ephesians 2:4-6

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loves us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with MESSIAH and raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in MESSIAH YESHUA.

The promises of GOD’S peace are not made to those who work, struggle or strive in their own strength but to those who enter GOD’S rest waiting on Him!

Let’s thank God for this time of REST! It’s necessary and long overdue!

All our love,
