Light of the World

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Do you realize that everyone’s life makes a statement? Perhaps you’ve never looked at your daily routine as anything more than merely traveling back & forth to work & accomplishing daily tasks. If so, you might wonder what message this could possibly broadcast to the people around us.

The truth is that every one of us communicates to others through our character, actions & words. The believer’s life should be an expression of glory to GOD while conveying to onlookers the vital importance of divine truth!

As we approach this glorious season of Chanukah, wherever we are, YESHUA’S light should shine brightly through us, so that He is evident in this dark world!

(John 13:34&35…A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another… )

We are ambassadors for YESHUA, let our life be an opportunity to those around us to see MESSIAH in action; as we serve others & reveal peace & trust in ABBA even as we go through difficult times.

Total Surrender

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

As believers, following the example of Yeshua, we should persevere in adversity & having confidence in GOD’S promises (His Word) & surrender it all to Him.

If you are a take charge kind of person, you may find it hard to submit to the LORD! This has been man’s problem since the beginning. Adam & Eve decided to ignore GOD’S warning & did it their way & look what happened, “DISASTER”!

Nothing has changed with us humans; we tend to ignore GOD’S wisdom & knowledge (Bible). Selfishness & pride can make us reluctant to let GOD take charge over our lives! We want to cling to our ideas & dreams, but if we yield to GOD’S control, we position ourselves to live the abundant spiritual life YESHUA died to give us!

Here’s what YESHUA said…
{Luke 11:28… But He said, more than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it… }

Obedience to GOD’S will & ways always brings glory to GOD, as well as blessings to us. Surrender is the way to abundance! Won’t you humble yourself before GOD & relinquish all to Him!

Our Loving Friend

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Human love pales in comparison to YESHUA’S divine love, which He demonstrated by dying on the cross to pay our penalty for sin! YESHUA lived a perfect live—one which was sinless & fully pleasing to GOD. He had no unrighteousness for which He owned payment. But we do! Until the Savior of the world, our destiny was fixed; we were headed for eternal separation from GOD!

YESHUA cared so much that He willingly set aside His divinity & became man to live among us (while our hearts were far from GOD). He even came to die on behalf of a world that rejected Him. On Calvary’s hill, GOD’S wrath was poured out on MESSIAH for the sins of all people. He died so that you & I might enter GOD’S family & live in paradise forever & ever with Him!

{Romans 3:23…for all have sinned & fall short of the glory of GOD… }

Because of YESHUA’S sacrifice, our status has been changed from outsider to Children of GOD, from enemy to beloved & from stranger to friend! Who could care more deeply; YESHUA is truly our loving friend! Have you asked Him into your heart to be your Lord and Savior!

The Power of Love

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Believers are channels for GOD’S love. His love flowing through us is a powerful force that enables us to do more than the unbeliever who relies upon himself. The love that dwells in us is described perfectly in our verse today!

First, “love is patient” ; with GOD’S Spirit living within, we are empowered to wait upon His timing and purpose! We can then be patient with others, knowing GOD is working in their behalf.

Second, “love is kind”, and with GOD’S love, we have the capacity to be genuinely kind, regardless of how others may treat us.

Third, “love is not jealous”; jealousy is a fear of losing someone! GOD’S love gives us the security to hold relationships more loosely.

Love does not brag, is not arrogant, and because we understand our value in GOD’S eyes we don’t need to be arrogant.

1 Corinthians 13:4… “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up… ”

GOD’S Love is powerful! When we allow  His caring Spirit to flow through us, we can have a profound effect upon our world!

Encouraging Others

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

One of the easiest ways to express love to others is to help them feel valuable. Stop to think; most people we know do not have a sense of their infinite value as a child of GOD. The thought that GOD loves them and sees them as precious has never entered their minds.

Satan works overtime making people feel devalued and worthless, but we can help remove those lies by building people up and encouraging them. One way to do this is with a sincere compliment. Nothing major; just a little remark, like “I value our friendship or you look so pretty today or I love your smile!” How meaningful that can be to someone. A little bit of love and caring goes a long way!

Romans14:19
“Therefore, let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another… ”

This act of edification isn’t time-consuming or costly, but is so valuable to the building up of GOD’S creation
(you & I).

Reach out today, encouraging someone and spread the love of Yeshua; it only takes a minute!

Prayerlessness

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

It may sound simple, but it is true – our prayers are not answered when we do not pray! Just as our scripture for today states, we have to ask for what we need and want!

Sometimes we work on our situations, in our thoughts; we discuss them with our family and friends and wish and hope for them to be taken care of. But, all that is not prayer!

Prayer is going to ABBA  “in the name of Yeshua” and asking Him to give us an answer to our needs! As a matter of fact, He is waiting for us to come to Him in faith knowing He is ready and able to act on our behalf if we only believe. His love for us is unconditional and His desire is always to bless us beyond measure, but until we come to Him in prayer, His hands are tied!

James 4:2C “You do not have because you do not ask… “

Open the door for GOD to intervene in your situation with prayer. Don’t ever let prayerlessness hinder GOD from working in your life and the lives of your loved ones! He is waiting!
