Spiritual Anchor

When turbulent times are upon you, the Word of GOD should be your anchor! In our scripture for today, we find Isaiah’s writings about our source for that hope ( MESSIAH YESHUA).

Here GOD promises us strength, help and protection! Moreover, He gives us two commands: “Do not fear and do not anxiously look about you.” 

One of Satan’s successful traps is distraction! He knows that fear can choke faith. He works hard to make unsettling circumstances our focus!

Once our attention is diverted from GOD, and prayer and worship are in lack, then anxiety and doubt have room for growth!

Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

The emotions of anxiety, fear and doubt don’t belong in a believer’s life! Let’s use the spiritual anchors throughout GOD’S Word to keep us steady in our faith!

Faith Muscles

Almost every believer in Yeshua at one time or another will make the statement: “I wish I had great faith!” 

Faith is like a muscle. In order for your muscles to become strong, you must exercise them. There is work involved. You can’t just wish for it to happen.

We are to believe GOD not only for salvation through YESHUA but also for everything in our lives! Faith is actually a process that involves increasing degrees of trust throughout.

Elijah was a man of great faith. He saw increased challenges as opportunities for GOD to do His work. Elijah believed GOD for the supernatural (1 King 18:22-36, check it out).

We can too, if we are obedient and willing to trust in Him. Do you want to be used by GOD? He’s not looking for perfection. He’s looking for a believer who’s willing to walk by faith and trust! 

2 Corn. 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 

Little faith hopes GOD will do what He says. Strong faith knows that He will. Great faith believes that He has already done it!

Stop and Listen

In the Bible, we read stories about GOD speaking to His prophets, and He still speaks to us today the same way! We need to listen for that small, still voice; don’t let the business of life keep us from listening! 

The first time He spoke was through the power of the Holy Spirit leading you to salvation, and that is just the beginning!

If we listen carefully, He will call us to sanctification, which means being set apart by Him and for Him to advance His Kingdom. He will continually remind us to use His power and the resources He gave us for the good works He wants us to accomplish (Epheasians 2:10).

Then He calls us to accountability; one day we all will have to give an account of how we used the resources He gave us!

Romans 14:12
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

Has life become so hectic that GOD’S voice is inaudible ? Let’s give ourselves time to listen by spending time in the Word and in our prayer closet. While living here in this fallen world, we all need our heavenly FATHER ‘S guidance!

Forever and Ever

The Book of Revelation may be the most ignored book of the New Testament, simply because it can be difficult to understand. This book has some of the richest descriptions of our LORD Yeshua that Scripture has to offer.

We love the images of Yeshua as a helpless newborn baby, yet we need to remember that is the complete humiliation of God by Himself demonstrating His total compassion for us. It also teaches us about the importance of His death and resurrection, but the story doesn’t end there. Let’s not miss out on the ending!

The apostle John, who wrote the Book of Revelation, was given a dramatic vision of the exalted LORD as He is now in Heaven (our future home)! He sees YESHUA as the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, and the Lord over His CHILDREN in the midst of the lamp stands! All Heaven erupts into praise and worship because MESSIAH is found to be the only one worthy to end this age and set up His righteous Kingdom!

Acts 5:13B
Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.

As believers in MASCHIACH, the Book of Revelation is our future. Let’s picture ourselves in the scene seeing YESHUA as the exalted Lord and Lamb of GOD! As we glimpse at our future, let it elevate our praise and worship to a new level!

Praise our soon-coming King!

Paradise

After YESHUA told His disciples He was going away, He also promised that He would return and take them to a home He had prepared (John 14:2-3). These verses confirm that Heaven is a real place! According to the Bible, we believers have citizenship in Paradise (Philippians 3:20). Our treasure is stored there, and this will be our home for all eternity (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Heaven is a real place, not a celestial dream world! We will spend eternity serving and worshipping our almighty GOD. 

Despite misconceptions about reclining on clouds and playing harps, we won’t be sitting and doing nothing. And all the things that make life on earth so wearying, like temptation, trials, heartaches, and pain will be no more! 

YESHUA speaking:
John 14:3
When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

Is your name in Heaven’s book of Reservations? (It’s referred to as the Lambs Book of Life.)

To register, you have to put your trust in YESHUA as your Savior and LORD over your life. Don’t wait another day for that most important decision of your lifetime!

Double Minded

The Old Testament tells us idolatry is a serious issue. But in our modern world, not many give that much thought! 

The worship of idols may seem ancient, but the truth is that all of us will struggle with this heart issue! 

Modern idols can come in many different forms—a relationship, position or title, possessions, etc.!

When we depend on or give priority to anything besides the LORD, it becomes our GOD. 

Does something in your life have a higher value than the LORD? 

One accurate measure of priorities is the use of our time. Do you reserve a part of each day for GOD? On what or whom do you depend? Do you rely on GOD for strength and provision or on yourself or others?

Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve GOD and be enslaved to money.

We must make up our minds; double mindedness never works. 

If we believe our GOD is the only true GOD, then we must give Him our whole life and be faithful and serve Him and only Him!
