Sharing Joy

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation, Lake Worth Florida, Palm Beaches

When you are in love, it is an exciting and touching emotion! The same holds true of your love for YESHUA. It’s hard to keep it to yourself! The JOY that comes from loving and knowing your Savior spills over, bearing witness!

YESHUA calls us to be witnesses to the world around us. The word witness means to see, hear or know by personal presence, perception; to testify, or bear witness to and give evidence of!

In our Scripture today, John (YESHUA’S disciple) writes about his firsthand experience on how filled he was with joy from knowing YESHUA and wanted to share that joy!

1 John 1:3-4
“That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”

Witnessing is not a matter of eloquence or talent. It’s an overflow of your personal relationship with YESHUA. As you allow the Holy Spirit to increasingly express His life and power through you, may your joy overflow onto others.

Blessings,

God’s Character

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation, Lake Worth Florida, Palm Beaches

When evil people affect our lives, we often wonder how GOD could permit such a thing? Humanly thinking, that question would make sense. And when this happens, we may never understand the reason wickedness was allowed to touch us. However, the LORD gives several assurances in His Word to sustain us during those times!

First, GOD will remind us that His ways and thoughts are higher than ours (ref. Isaiah 55:9)!

As we see in Romans 8:28, our Heavenly FATHER promises us that He will work all things together for the good of all believers!

Then in our Scripture for today, He provides insight into His character: Psalm 100:5 “For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”

We live in a fallen world, and all of us will be affected sometimes by evil people! Knowing GOD’S Word and understanding His character gives us hope and will give us endurance to persevere during those times.

Desire or Necessity

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation, Lake Worth Florida, Palm Beaches

Sometimes people perceive a desire as a necessity. The heart can become so consumed with a craving that fulfilling it feels critical to your well-being. Then when GOD doesn’t meet the “need,” anger and frustration come about!

If your need wasn’t met by GOD, ask yourself, “Is my petition essential to accomplishing GOD’S purpose, or is it only for my enjoyment?

If it is essential for GOD’S purpose in your life, then He will answer when you pray for Him to fulfill it (ref. Philippians 4:19).

Almighty GOD is always pleased to satisfy desires that fit within the confines of His purpose and will for your life (ref. Psalm 37:4).

Remember, our Heavenly FATHER isn’t obligated to grant wishes or fulfill any plans but His own!

Psalm 34:9-10
Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want for those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

ABBA wants to be the One in whom fulfillment and satisfaction are found! When we are truly seeking the LORD, then we won’t require a lot of stuff and entertainment and especially people to meet our needs in order to be happy. Our JOY is in the LORD!

Source of Strength

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Recently, we took a look at the apostle Paul; continuing on, we as believers would be wise to take on his mindset (1 Corinthians 11:1).

First comes humility; pride cannot hide in the heart of a believer who understands divine mercy.  GOD’S grace is sufficient to save any sinner, and Paul knew that!

Second, Paul never lost sight of how far GOD’S grace had brought him. Through all of his constant turmoil and heartaches, as we see in the book of Acts, Paul kept praising the LORD for the great privilege of serving Him.

Looking at our verse today, Paul never lost sight of his source of strength. Paul desired more of YESHUA and none of himself.

1 Corinthians 15:10A
But by the grace of God I am what I am and His grace toward me was not in vain.

We all need to have the mindset of Paul—to know where our sufficiency comes from—GOD’S mercy and grace! Praise the LORD for all that He has done for us, and then let’s get busy working for the Kingdom of GOD!

No Excuses

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Even though the Bible clearly states that every believer receives a spiritual gift, some nevertheless think they were overlooked. So they go through their lives refusing to serve. Others are so busy wishing they had a different ability that they do not use the one given to them by the Holy Spirit! Both of these attitudes are sinful!

GOD has a specific purpose and ministry for every believer. Our spiritual gifts help us fulfill GOD’S master plan. He always has a purpose for handing out our spiritual gifts. We are to use our gifts for equipping, edifying and encouraging one another (Ephesians 4:11-13) and for bringing the lost into the Kingdom. Everyone profits when we do GOD’S work through the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 4:10
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of GOD.

Each one of us has important work to do for the kingdom (no excuses for bypassing GOD’S will)! Where He has gifted us, He will also provide strength and courage to exercise those gifts.
