Comforting Word

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation, Lake Worth Florida, Palm Beaches

Psalm 23 is where we find today’s Scripture that is so comforting! As busy as our schedules are in this hectic world we live in, let’s take time out to reflect on GOD’S comforting word! GOD causes us to lay down and rest, He refreshes and restores our mind, will, and emotions (which make up our soul)!

What a wonderful promise. The word “restore “ means to bring back into existence and use or to bring back to an original state; to cause to return or to refresh!

If you have been hurt and your soul has been wounded, you can claim the promise of restoration.

Psalm 23:3
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake.

ABBA FATHER has a plan for our restoration. If we will allow Him to do so, He will guide us by His Holy Spirit along the unique way that leads to healing and wholeness and the ability to fulfill the great purposes He has for our lives!

Abba, we thank you today for the restoration of our soul and life and for leading us in the way that is right for us, in YESHUA’S Name we pray, Amen!

Blessings,

Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Misplaced Priorities

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation, Lake Worth Florida, Palm Beaches

There is always a penalty for misplaced priorities (Luke12:6-21)! That Scripture reference is about a foolish man who passed away with no opportunity to enjoy his goods, and even worse, he died with a bankrupt soul (missed out on Heaven)!

We as believers must make service for GOD our main concern. Serving the LORD and His Kingdom is the key to setting correct goals. Life is not something that simply happens to people. Where you are today is largely determined by the way you prioritized your concerns in previous months and years.

This means we can positively impact our future by organizing our priorities according to biblical guidelines!

Matt. 6:20
But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Let’s not be like the rich, foolish man in YESHUA’S parable in Luke 12, who only provided for himself and not for others. He also provided for his body (flesh) and not for his spirit! While making provision for his present life here on earth, he gave no thought to his life to come (eternity).

Blessings,

Desire or Necessity

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation, Lake Worth Florida, Palm Beaches

Sometimes people perceive a desire as a necessity. The heart can become so consumed with a craving that fulfilling it feels critical to your well-being. Then when GOD doesn’t meet the “need,” anger and frustration come about!

If your need wasn’t met by GOD, ask yourself, “Is my petition essential to accomplishing GOD’S purpose, or is it only for my enjoyment?

If it is essential for GOD’S purpose in your life, then He will answer when you pray for Him to fulfill it (ref. Philippians 4:19).

Almighty GOD is always pleased to satisfy desires that fit within the confines of His purpose and will for your life (ref. Psalm 37:4).

Remember, our Heavenly FATHER isn’t obligated to grant wishes or fulfill any plans but His own!

Psalm 34:9-10
Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want for those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

ABBA wants to be the One in whom fulfillment and satisfaction are found! When we are truly seeking the LORD, then we won’t require a lot of stuff and entertainment and especially people to meet our needs in order to be happy. Our JOY is in the LORD!

Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Be a Doer

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation, Lake Worth Florida, Palm Beaches

The LORD conforms us to the truth by continually confronting us with the truth (the Bible)! When He does, either we accept it as truth or we ignore it.

When we accept the truth from our heavenly FATHER, we can expect His richest blessings, even when we don’t have any reason to expect any blessings at all!

Denying GOD’S Word is an attitude He will not bless. Think about when you heard the Word of GOD being preached last! Did you walk away with that Word heavy on your mind? Or did you simply walk away with no thought of it whatsoever?

We need to let GOD’S truth work its way into our hearts and lives!

James 1:23-24
For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

Let’s ask the LORD in prayer today to refocus our thoughts and help us to be an aggressive listener and to allow the Holy Spirit to cause the Word to penetrate our hearts.

Blessings,

Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman
