L’Chaim is Real, Relevant, and Relational.
L’Chaim is a congregation of MESSIANIC BELIEVERS who believe Yeshua (Jesus) is the promised Messiah of Israel. We exist to reach the local, pre-believing Jewish people with the fact that Scripture is God’s inspired and true Word; that Yeshua is the Risen Messiah of Israel, and an abiding faith in Him is His only provision for eternal life in Heaven with the Lord
What makes L’Chaim Messianic Congregation unique?
ITS PEOPLE
Look around and you’ll discover an exciting mix of people at LMC, Jewish and non-Jewish, having an array of cultural and religious backgrounds, yet worshiping in unity.
ITS PRAISE
Distinctively Jewish! Why? Certainly not because Jewish is “better.” The reason is simply this: Our scriptures, our salvation, and even our Messiah stem from roots which are distinctively Jewish, and we cherish that heritage!
ITS PURPOSE
• To REACH out to our community with the good news of our Messiah, Yeshua.
• To RAISE up individuals who love God with their whole heart, mind, soul and strength.
• To REPLICATE small groups of caring, committed believers with deepening relationships.
• To RELAY a Messianic vision to the next generation.
The above vision statement represents our core values at L’Chaim Messianic Congregation, a community of Jewish and non-Jewish (grafted–in) followers of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We exist to proclaim our Messiah and Lord, Yeshua. This, we pray, will empower us to:
Reach (Jewish Evangelism)
By presenting the Gospel in a culturally Jewish context, we seek to reach Jewish friends, relatives, and acquaintances with the message of salvation. (Romans 1:16; I Corinthians 9:19-20)
Raise Up (Disciplemaking)
In accordance with Messiah’s “Great Commission,” we seek to train obedient disciples of Yeshua who are fully engaged in the Messianic Body, and who are investing their spiritual gifts, abilities, and resources in service to our congregation and our community. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:11-16)
Replicate (Relationships)
We will strive to produce an expanding network of havurot(“cell groups” of 5-10 people each) in an effort to provide a setting for personal caring, healthy accountability, deepening relationships and lay ministry opportunities. (Acts 2:42-47)
Relay (Continuity)
For reasons important to both Jewish and Gentile believers in our congregation, we will seek to preserve the Messianic testimony. Jewish congregants who cherish their Biblical heritage and cultural identity will purpose to express and transmit their faith in the context of their identity. Those grafted–in congregants who find meaning in the Jewish roots of Christianity will also endeavor to preserve their unique testimony. Thus, with a view toward maintaining our cultural link with the past, thereby demonstrating the faithfulness of God in preserving the Jewish Remnant, we will strive to impart a Messianic vision to the next generation. (Proverbs 29:18a; Romans 11:5)
