In Yeshua’s Name

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

In our Scripture today, we find YESHUA  talking to His disciples, telling them to pray in His Name, and that if they did, GOD would answer them. This is a powerful promise, but it comes with specific requirements!

Praying in YESHUA’S Name points out the necessity of a family relationship with FATHER GOD through MESSIAH!

If you have received YESHUA as your personal Savior, you then belong to the family of GOD. (You are His child then!) So, coming to the FATHER in YESHUA’S Name is your privilege as His child! We have access to GOD through YESHUA and Him alone! (John 14:6)

Our Savior opened the way for us to approach GOD as FATHER and receive answers to our prayers. Because of our sin-debt being paid for on Calvary, we can come into the Throne Room knowing with confidence our requests will be heard and answered in GOD’S timing.

John 14:13–14
And whatever you ask in my Name, that I will do, that the FATHER may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My Name I will do it.

As believers in MESSIAH YESHUA, we can enter the Throne Room, not as beggars but as heirs of GOD the FATHER and coheirs of MESSIAH. Glory be to His mighty Name!

Antidote to Doubt

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

We cannot please GOD without having faith (read Hebrews 11:6), so this is a must for answered prayer! If we have doubt and unbelief (the opposite of faith), it will keep our prayers from being answered.

Faith pleases GOD. Satan, the father of lies, knows that! He will try to fill our minds with doubt, unbelief and questioning—-that is his job! But when he does, we need to check our hearts.

We need to follow our hearts.Satan will try to put thoughts in our mind, which is his battlefield (our minds)!

Doubt and unbelief can start with distraction from the promises of GOD and of GOD’S ability to come through for us. Our faith can diminish if we start thinking more and more about our problems and challenges instead of keeping our eyes on YESHUA, the Champion who perfects our faith!

James 1:6
But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.

Keeping our eyes off everything that steals our faith or distracts us from what the Word of GOD says is the antidote to doubt and unbelief!

Only believe and you will see the glory of GOD in your answered prayer!

In God’s Hands

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Did you ever go to your heavenly FATHER in prayer and then turn away and start to worry about what you prayed for?

When we pray and then worry, we are not exercising trust in Him!

When we insist upon keeping our hands on the situation we are praying about and not letting GOD have them completely, He doesn’t have much freedom to answer that prayer!

Worry is meditating on our problems, but we are told to meditate on GOD’S Word not our problems!

The opposite of worry and anxiety is peace. And if we are going to live in peace, we need to learn how to live our lives one day at a time. Don’t spend today worrying about tomorrow, as YESHUA tells us in the following Scripture.

Matthew 6:34
So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Just as each day has its own trouble, each day has its own supply of grace!

GOD does not give us grace today for tomorrow! Let’s refuse to be anxious about tomorrow and be determined to leave our prayers in GOD’S hands. Trust that He knows what’s best for you, and He will bring it to pass!

Glory be to GOD!

Simply Pray

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

It may sound simple, but it is true—our prayers are not answered when we do not pray! Just as our Scripture of today states, we have to ask for what we need and want!

“We have not because we ask not!”

Sometimes we work on our situations in our thoughts; we discuss them with our family, friends and wish and hope for them! But all that is not prayer!

Prayer is talking to our heavenly FATHER knowing that He is there to listen. When we bring our concerns to Him “in the name of YESHUA,” we are depending on Him and not ourselves.

He is always there waiting to hear from us coming to Him in faith, knowing that He is ready and able to act on our behalf! His love for us is unconditional, and He desires to bless us beyond measure. But until we come to Him in prayer, His hands are tied!

James 4:2B
You do not have, because you do not ask.

Open the door for GOD to intervene in your situation with your prayers. Don’t ever let prayerlessness hinder GOD from working in your life and in the lives of your loved ones. “SIMPLY PRAY!”

Guilt & Condemnation

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

If there is anything that will stop the flow of fellowship (prayer with our Creator), it’s guilt and condemnation!

Think about it. When you do something wrong and you don’t deal with it the way GOD wants you to, you feel guilty and condemned. Then we often retreat and separate ourselves from our heavenly FATHER, not feeling worthy to enter His presence in prayer.

What do we do? We must repent; turn from our sin, and then our flow of fellowship with ABBA FATHER  will be fully restored!

Make no mistake, as believers, we are in MESSIAH, and nothing can separate us from GOD’S love (Romans 8:38)! The gift of repentance is such a blessing, and it keeps on giving; we can use it everyday. YESHUA provided it all for us on Calvary!

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in MESSIAH YESHUA who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

All that GOD is and all that GOD has is ours in MESSIAH YESHUA . Don’t let guilt and condemnation keep you from your privilege of prayer!
