A Prophetic Song “Over the Rainbow”

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation, Lake Worth Florida, Palm Beaches

Did you know that “Over the Rainbow” was not written about the mythical Land of Oz?

“Over the Rainbow” was written about the homeland of the Jews, which is Israel!

The lyrics were written by Yip Harburg, the youngest of four children born to Russian-Jewish immigrants. His real name was Isidore Hochberg, and he grew up in a Yiddish-speaking, Orthodox Jewish home in New York.

The song’s music was written by Harold Arlen, also a cantor’s son. His real name was Hyman Arluck, and his parents were from Lithuania.

Together, Hochberg and Arluck wrote “Over the Rainbow,” which was voted the 20th century’s SONG OF THE CENTURY by the Recording Industry Association of America and the National Endowment for the Arts.

In writing it, the two men reached deep into their immigrant Jewish consciousness—framed by the pogroms of the past and the Holocaust about to happen—and wrote an unforgettable melody set to near prophetic words.

“And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.”

We at L’Chaim commemorate “Holocaust Remembrance Day” each year, and we declare, “We Remember.”

And we honor those that dreamed of “the land that they heard once in a lullaby,” those that never saw the Promised Land, and those who rose from the ashes to make the dream a reality.

The Peace of God

Are you at peace today?

Nothing is worth anything if you don’t have peace! Even having great wealth is no good without peace! You cannot put a price on the value of peace. You can spend your whole life trying to climb the ladder of success and it could consume you with pressure, stress and rob you of your peace, joy and time that should be spent with your family.

We are never truly successful unless we have peace. Peace comes from knowing who we are in MESSIAH YESHUA (the Prince of Peace) and having the peace of GOD, which surpasses all understanding

Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

GOD wants to see us (His children) having our needs met and blessed in abundance and being in a position to bless others! But ABBA  never wants it to be a cost of exchanging our peace for it. Seek the prefect peace of GOD in all you do, and always refuse to live without it!

The Path of Life

What is your response if GOD doesn’t fulfill a burning desire?

For some people, unmet longing feels like the worst thing that could happen. It makes their entire life seem disappointing and incomplete! So they pursue their dreams themselves either in opposition to GOD’S will or in disregard and end up truly disappointed, even if they got what they think they wanted!

Deep down inside of us is a desire, a hunger for something we can not see and do not fully know, which is “GOD-Himself”!

Of course, we can never fully know and understand GOD; there is always more to be uncovered about Him. But He promises to reveal to us more about His ways as we grow close in fellowship with Him daily (our personal prayer time).

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Amazingly, as we pursue our desire for GOD, He fulfills the other desires He has given us. And so we learn that acquiring anything outside of His will eventually turns to ashes, leaving dust in our mouths! He longs to fill us with “pleasures forevermore.”

Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life. Abundance of joys are in Your presence, eternal pleasures at Your right hand.

Dare to Be Bold

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation Lake Worth Florida. Pastor Bruce and Suzi Elman

Bold means to be brave, darling, courageous, and intrepid!

GOD is calling us to be bold. He hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of power and permission to fearlessly, confidently and boldly draw near the Throne of Grace!

This means we go into the presence of almighty GOD anytime we choose (through MESSIAH YESHUA).

We have an open invitation day and night.

Wow, GOD is saying to us, unreservedly (which means we don’t have to be careful, hesitate or wonder if we’ve worn out our welcome) that even if we made some mistakes or did things we shouldn’t have done, we can repent of our sins and be cleansed in the blood of YESHUA and go boldly back into His Throne Room!

Ephesians 3:12
In whom because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness, courage and confidence of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear).

GOD is waiting for us to come into His Throne Room daringly and ask Him to meet our needs and the needs of others to work through us to impact the world!

With lots of prayers & love,

Shalom!

Showing Love

L'Chaim Messianic Congregation Lake Worth Florida. Pastor Bruce and Suzi Elman

One of the easiest ways to show love to others is to help them feel valuable. Most Messiah followers don’t have a sense of their value as a child of the most high GOD!

The thought that GOD loves them and sees them as precious never entered their minds. The devil himself works overtime making us feel devalued and worthless! But we can neutralize his lies by building others up and encouraging them.

One way to do this is with a sincere compliment!  It doesn’t take much of our time and doesn’t cost us a dime! For instance: “You have a beautiful smile,” or “I’m so glad you are my friend!”

We need to learn to be an aggressive encourager. Find ways to encourage those around you, and do it on purpose!

It can mean so much to a person, even better than anything money can buy!

Romans 14:19
So let us then definitely aim for and eagerly pursue what makes for harmony for mutual upbuilding (edification and development) of one another.

Be the one today to lift someone’s spirit in your corner of the world.

Let the love of YESHUA shine through you!

With lots of prayers & love,

Shalom!
