You Are Uniquely Made for a Specific Purpose

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Do you know GOD made you special?

There is no one else on the earth like you with your unique mix of gifts, talents and traits! GOD, our FATHER, didn’t make you to be superior or inferior. He created you to be unique and to fulfill His specific purpose for your life here!

We should never look at others condescendingly with an attitude of superiority or look down on ourselves thinking to be inferior to our brothers and sisters in MESSIAH.

We should never compare apples to oranges! We shouldn’t be judging others or ourselves by a standard that is not GOD’S will for us as individuals.

(Romans 12:3) For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Ask GOD to reveal your gifts to you and teach you how you can make your unique contribution as a member of the body of MESSIAH!

Delight in the Lord

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

What is your response if GOD doesn’t fulfill a burning desire? For some people, an unmet longing feels like the worst thing that could happen; it makes their entire life seem disappointing and incomplete! So they pursue their dreams themselves in opposition to GOD’S will  and end up truly disappointed, even if they got what they think they wanted!

Deep down inside of us is a desire, a hunger for something we can not see and do not fully know. That desire is for “GOD-Himself!”

Of course we can never fully know and understand GOD; there is always more to uncover about Him. But He promises to reveal to us more about His ways as we grow closer in fellowship with Him daily (through our personal prayer time and Bible reading time).

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Amazingly, as we pursue our desire for GOD, He fulfills the other desires He has given us. And so we learn that while acquiring anything outside of His will, will eventually turn to ashes, leaving dust in our mouth! He longs to fill us with “pleasures forevermore.”

Psalm 16:11

You will show me the path of life;

In Your presence is fullness of joy;

At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Yeshua’s Way

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

As GOD’S adopted children, we have been given a new purpose – glorifying Him through righteous living. This means changing our plans to adjust to His will and purpose for our lives.

One very important change is with our belief system; as BELIEVERS our thinking should match YESHUA’S way of thinking!

The influence of the world we live in is strong! The world tells us to push ahead of others, take all the credit for our accomplishments and keep material possessions for our own use.

But, the Word tells us the last shall be first (Mark 9:35). GOD is the One who desires our praise (Psalm 96:4) and we are to be generous people. In all our desires and what others may want us to do, the LORD should always take precedence!

{Matthew 16:24… Then YESHUA said to His disciples, if anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me… }

Let’s take inventory, making sure our heavenly FATHER is taking first place in all we do. He wants and desires our full devotion!

Choose to Forgive

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Last week we talked about our prayer life and some of the hindrances to unanswered prayer. I truly believe that the number one hindrance is unforgiveness!

The Bible contains many scriptures on the importance of forgiveness! We are to forgive as GOD in MESSIAH forgave us (Ephesians 4:32).

We live in a fallen world full of imperfect people and we can’t avoid the fact of getting hurt or offended. We will always have a reason to be angry, but unresolved anger will turn to bitterness and unforgiveness, and that will hinder our prayers.

If we want GOD to answer our prayers, let’s go to Him with a pure heart – empty of any anger, resentment or unforgiveness!

YESHUA made it very clear in our scripture today; let’s read it.
Mark 11:25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your ABBA in heaven may also forgive you, your trespasses… ”

Don’t wait until you feel like forgiving, make it an intentional choice to forgive and remember forgiveness will set a prisoner free and that prisoner is you!❤️🙏🙏
