Love Taking Charge

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

When love takes charge of us (meaning GOD is in charge), we cannot think bad thoughts because GOD is love, that’s who He is! When we are living the life of a Spirit-filled Believer, we allow the Holy Spirit to control all areas of our lives. This includes our thoughts, words and deeds.

GOD has a purpose for each of us and if you want to learn of yours, read through the New Covenant! GOD wants and desires for each of us to become His precious child; this is done by accepting His Son “YESHUA” as our Savior!

Then we are to go and lead others to MESSIAH and unless we are living a lifestyle as a “Messiah Follower” to back up what we are saying, we can’t be an effective witness for Yeshua the Messiah! This lifestyle is a reflection of our thoughts which must line up with GOD’S thoughts!

{Romans 8:9…But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit; if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Messiah, he is not His}…

We need to crucify our flesh and be led by the Ruach HaKodesh in our thinking and let love take charge of our minds; that’s where all Spirit-led living begins! When was the last time you led someone to Yeshua?!

Being Still

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Temptation, trials and suffering – we’ve all experienced them! Even as Messianic believers (sometimes, specifically because we are believers), we must endure pain, whether through loss, bankruptcy, unemployment or broken relationships!

While no one is immune to hard times, believers are empowered through the Holy Spirit to endure them. Our verse today tells us to “be still” and know who GOD is! This indicates that our best response to disappointment is to trust in the LORD! When troubles come (and they will come), it’s real easy to get caught up in our emotions, but we need to be wise in the Word of GOD and learn to be still and wait on the One who can work it all out for our good (Rom. 8:28), check it out.

{Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God and I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth… }

While on this earth, troubles won’t ever vanish (John 16:33). But, when storms are brewing on the horizon, buckle up and trust GOD to guide you through!

Spiritual Static

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

Sometimes when listening to the radio, we can experience static. Then we try to adjust the dial to get a clearer reception. Well, our Messianic life works in a similar way. We can make a decision & then might experience a nagging sense in our spirit that it’s not the right one to choose.

We can call this “spiritual static,” which occurs when a believer is lacking godly discernment! Through the power of the Ruach Hakodesh, who dwells in every believer,  we are equipped to choose what is the best way to go!

Prayerful, scripturally grounded believers will be aware of the Holy Spirit’s warning (spiritual static) when moving forward in their lives!
{Col. 1:9…For this reason, we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding}…

Let’s pray & trust the LORD to rid our hearts of spiritual static so we are clearly receiving His assurance to move ahead!

IN THE LIGHT

Encouraging Words with Pastor Bruce & Suzi Elman

We see in our scripture of the day that GOD is light and in Him is no darkness. GOD is pure and a perfect light and He shines through obedient people! However, when we invite darkness (sin) into our life, there is immediate conflict! Darkness & light cannot mix.

The way to keep a pure Spirit in this upside down world we live in is to confess our sin. Confession breaks the stronghold it can take in our lives. When we agree with GOD that our actions, thoughts or words are in violation of His will and are specific about our wrongs then our wrongdoing is forgiven and doesn’t interfere with our fellowship with Him.

1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all…

Nothing can change a redeemed believer’s identity as a child of GOD; that work was done on the cross, but to stay in a right relationship with Him we must honestly acknowledge our sin and take responsibility for it! That will keep us fully in the light of GOD’S love!
